Prof. Tetsuo Asano

Prof. Tetsuo Asano is a Japanese computer scientist and the President of Japan Advanced Institute of Science, and Technology (JAIST). Prof. Asano obtained his Bachelor's, Master’s and Doctoral degrees from Osaka University in 1972, 1974, and 1977. He then joined the faculty of Osaka Electro-Communication University from 1977 until 1998, when he joined JAIST. From 2012 to 2014 he was dean of the School of Information Science at JAIST. He became president of JAIST in April 2014. He is a fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery and also a fellow of the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers and of the Information Processing Society of Japan.

Prof. Dr. Mohd Nasir Bin Taib obtained his PhD in Control and Instrumentation from UMIST, United Kingdom in 1997. Prior to this, he graduated with distinction in the MSc (Control Systems) from University of Sheffield, United Kingdom. His research interests include among others, signal processing techniques, linear and non-linear system identification, intelligent systems, biomedical engineering and control systems. He is the founder of the Biomedical and Human Potential Laboratory in UiTM and is presently the Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, UiTM.
