How to Get to KIT from Kanazawa Station by Taxi
- Go out of Kanazawa Station through either the East or West gate.
- There is a taxi stand directly in front of you on your right if you left through the East gate. There is a taxi stand to your right if you exit the West gate.
- Depending on the route and the state of the roads, it typically takes 20 minutes to get from Kanazawa Station to KIT.
We advise getting information ahead of time from hotel staff, etc., if you are traveling by bus from Kanazawa Station to KIT. Additionally, be advised that it becomes congested during the morning rush hour.
There are numerous bus routes from Kanazawa Station to KIT. The easiest routes without a transfer are as follows.
How to Get to the Bus Stop to KIT
- Exit the east gate of Kanazawa Station.
- Then, there is a bus terminal in front of your left.
Walk to the bus stop #10 (Figure 1).

Then, take the bus #33, #34, or #39 at the bus stop.
The bus number is displayed on the front, on the side, and on the back of the bus, along with the destination in Japanese.
Bus #33: stops near the gate for the venue, or stops at a little bit away from the gate for the venue.
Bus #34: its last stop is KIT and stops near the gate for the venue. Convenient, but a small number of services.
Bus #39: stops near the gate for the venue.
How to Ride a Bus from Kanazawa Station to KIT
1. Prepare 360 JPY in cash. You can exchange a 1,000 JPY note and 500 JPY coin for small coins at the change machine on the bus, but we recommend that you prepare 360 JPY just in case (Figure 2).
Please note that national transportation IC cards such as Suica, PASMO, and ICOCA are not available.

2. Board the bus from the rear door.
3. Use the ticket machine to the right of the bus entrance to obtain a numbered ticket before boarding. Payment is not required at this time.
4. Depending on the route and the state of the roads, it typically takes 35 to 45 minutes to get from Kanazawa Station to KIT. It might take longer than fifty minutes in the worst circumstances.
5. To indicate to the driver that you wish to get off at the next bus stop, press the nearby button after the bus departs or passes the previous bus stop but before it reaches the KIT bus stop. You don’t need to press any buttons if they are already lit because someone else has already pressed one.
The Kanazawa Red Cross Hospital bus stop is the previous bus stop for busses #33 and #39. Since bus #34’s final destination is KIT, you don’t need to press any buttons.
Please be aware that on the bus, Kanazawa Red Cross Hospital (Figure 3) might be identified as “Japanese Red Cross Kanazawa Hospital.” Please be aware that Kanazawa Institute of Technology (KIT) may appear on the bus as “Kanazawa Kogyo University.”

6. After getting off, place your numbered ticket and 360 JPY in cash in the fare box next to the driver’s seat before leaving through the front door.
How to Get to the Venue from Bus Stops
Please be aware that KIT bus stops are located in two pairs.
A. If the bus stops on the road along the campus (Figure 4).

- After getting off the bus, look across the road, and you can see the gate for the venue on your left (Figure 5).

2. Exercise caution when crossing the street. We advise using the closest intersection with traffic lights to cross the street. Please be aware, though, that the intersection has separate traffic lights for cars and pedestrians. To prevent traffic accidents, please obey the pedestrian lights.
B. If the bus stops next to a restaurant parking lot (Figure 6)

- Walk in the opposite direction to the bus until you reach the first intersection.
Before you reach the first intersection, there is a police box (koban) on your right (Figure 7). When you reach the first intersection, you can see a KFC sign in front of you (Figure 8).

2. Turn left at the first intersection and continue to go on.
In around a 100 m walk, you will reach an intersection with traffic lights (Figure 9). There you can see some KIT buildings around you.
3. Cross the intersection towards the sidewalk ahead on the right.
Please note that there are separate traffic lights for pedestrians and vehicles at the intersection. Please follow the pedestrian lights to prevent traffic accidents.
4. After crossing the intersection, continue on in the same direction for another 100m. Then, you can see the gate for the venue on your right.
